The time has finally come. GANSHORN Medizin Electronic GmbH has successfully established operations at its new headquarters. A few months after moving from its previous premises – which had become too small – to the new, spacious, modern and inviting campus dedicated to pulmonary diagnostics, the official opening ceremony for the new site has now taken place.
Among those attending the celebrations in Bad Neustadt were District Administrator Sonja Rahm and Mayor Michael Werner, who emphasised the significance of the occasion. Dorothee Bär, Federal Minister for Research, Technology and Space, and Dr Florian Herrmann, Head of the Bavarian State Chancellery, sent their congratulations on this milestone via video message.
In his welcome address, CEO of GANSHORN Medizin Electronic GmbH Mirko Gadza thanked the numerous guests for the honour they had bestowed upon the company and the many people involved in the project for their extraordinary commitment. Mirko Gadza emphasised: “Today we are not only celebrating the opening of a new building – we are celebrating the trust, the collaboration and the joint achievement of everyone involved.”
Alfred E. Schiller, founder and owner of the SCHILLER Group, explained: “This building, which we are inaugurating today, embodies everything that has characterised my more than fifty years as an entrepreneur: steadfastness in turbulent times, confidence in our own strengths, and the determination to shape the future rather than merely survive in it.”
GANSHORN has been part of the Swiss SCHILLER Group since 2014. The partnership combines Ganshorn’s long-standing expertise in pulmonary function diagnostics with the international strength of the globally successful medical technology group. The new building in Bad Neustadt underlines the SCHILLER Group’s long-term commitment to the location and its further development.
What happened in the run-up to the opening ceremony
Background
GANSHORN Medizin Electronic GmbH had grown significantly at its previous site in Niederlauer. Due to a rise in order volumes, capacity there was no longer sufficient, which is why plans were made for a new company headquarters in the ‘Am Altenberg’ industrial estate in Bad Neustadt.
Ground-breaking ceremony
The official ground-breaking ceremony took place on 8 April 2024. In attendance were representatives from GANSHORN, its Swiss parent company SCHILLER, and local politicians, including Mayor Michael Werner and Deputy District Administrator Josef Demar. The new development comprises:
- a two-storey warehouse and production hall,
- a modern office building,
- a total of around 5,800 m² of usable floor space,
- significantly expanded production and logistics capacities.
Topping-out ceremony
Eight months later, on 3 December 2024, the topping-out ceremony was held. Numerous guests from the business and political worlds, as well as from the local region, were in attendance. By the time of the ceremony, approximately:
• 200 tonnes of steel had been installed,
• over 1,400 m³ of concrete had been poured.
The celebration marked the completion of the structural work on the new warehouse and the glass-fronted office building. CEO of GANSHORN Medizin Electronic GmbH Mirko Gadza highlighted the collaboration with the companies involved. Alfred E. Schiller also paid tribute to the work of the architects, engineers and tradespeople.
